PS and D is responsible for safely and efficiently utilizing the full potential of operating, maintenance and other support resources to maximize the performance of the Shipping and Recycle Fiber departments. We must provide quality, timely, and cost:effective services and products to the internal and external customers. The Area Process Manager will assist the Business Unit Manager in the overall operation.
Key Accountabilities:
Meet local and enterprise metrics by establishing clear goals and providing requisite resources to direct reports. Establish performance measures, monitor inputs/outputs, and implement action plans for optimized production and overall continuous improvement. Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of employees.
Evaluates and verifies employee performance through the review of completed work assignments and work techniques.
Engage employees by providing leadership and direction. This includes listening and responding to employee issues, taking decisive actions, recognizing excellent performance, and holding employees accountable for undesirable behaviors.
Identify staff development and training needs and ensure that training is obtained. Contribute to the development of operators' skills and knowledge, by providing assessment, on the job training and input into development and delivery of training.
Ensure that housekeeping standards are maintained by performing periodic inspections and holding employees accountable.
Ensure proper equipment care/maintenance through execution of a Basic Care program and MWS. This requires focus on developing strong reliability culture where a clear partnership exists between Maintenance and Operations.
Maintain quality that meets or exceeds customer expectations by producing products that are within guidelines.
Manage the area to achieve budget manufacturing costs, working and ensuring appropriate attention to cost issues and searching for new methods to allow cost reductions.
Maintains records, prepares reports, and composes correspondence relative to the work of the area.
Champion ME principles to drive for deliberate improvement.
Ensures proper labor relations and conditions of employment are maintained.
Respond to other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Minimum of five (5) years of Pulp and Paper Industry experience
Prefer high proficiency with Paper Production Record
